Thanks Ron The firmware definitely did something good. I’ve only been doing a bit of shooting with the MkII, nothing serious. Have a few shoots coming up over the next two weeks so I’ll post something soon. D3X does look fantastic, very filmlike image quality! But do you feel it is that much better than your 1DS MkIII w/ HTP enabled?

Thanks AFS for your answer!, At this I’m evaluating seriously not to buy the 5DMKII, seems it has to much problems. I like the detail I see in the pictures taken with 5D2, I don’t really like to buy the D700 because have much less detail and I like the Canon Colors, but at this point is hard to choose a buggy camera like the 5D2… I’m a bit dissapointed…

I haven’t had any noise/banding issues after the firmware update. (though I am not the type who cranks up the dark areas by 3 stops looking for issues…) Noise seems fine to me. And I shoot in relative darkness, and often with Highlight Tone Priority enabled. Are you using HTP? Have you updated the firmware to 1.0.7? Are you underexposing?

Hi!

Any issues with noise in dark areas/shadows at low ISOs? It started really annoying me since I started noticing noise there even at iso100 with my 5D2.
Otherwise it’s a very good camera, “just” this issue. It’s probably as bad, if not worse, as with my old 5D mark I.

Hey man. I believe they may somehow look better since that black dot/firmware fix. I’ll post something larger, though this blog app does not allow them to be very big at all…have you been using your 5D2? How’s it going?
The reports about that D3x have got me really considering getting one. The images I have seen from it are drop dead Awesome. Plus great D.R., great AF, etc. It’s heavy though. Maybe I’ll try to borrow one from my dealer in the next week or two and give it a shot…
By the way, this was not the t/s lens. Just me messing around with photoshop.

Hey Ron, nice work as always. The image quality seems to be looking great (better than before?) – would you be willing to post a few of these images a little larger so I could get a better look? Also were you using the T/S lens here?

Hello!, I just following a bit you site because I’m planning to buy a 5DMKII!, but you are having problems with the AF… could you explain a bit in which situations?… are you using the focus and recompose with the central point?… the camera shows you that the image is in focus and you get later that the image is not!?… is you don’t mind could you explain a bit more because for what I see there is enough light to get all shoot in focus!!
