As to context, I think in a lot of fashion photo stories the context is simply someone&#039;s imagination...apropos of nothing in particular. They are simply visual vignettes which hopefully evoke a mood, sell clothing, etc. 

Indeed, there is bound to be more context when you approach the assignment like a photojournalism gig. Well done.</description>

		<description>The first couple of shots (of Kate Winslet) in the NYT portfolio made me think, &quot;Oh, kack, the gimmick is to make them all look like crack whores.&quot; But once I got further into the portfolio, I really liked it (except maybe for all the tilts, which struck me as a bit self-consciously Winogrand-esque.)

One thing I think is missing from a lot of fashion photography is context... so I really liked it that this portfolio made it clear WHY these people were dressing like this.</description>
